Great interviews with Leroy Hutson, giving a comprehensive overview of his entire career with music strategically placed throughout. Such a beautifully produced program. I figure if anyone would appreciate this as much as me, they'd be lurking here …

Nice work! I'll be following along.

Are you playing vinyl? Beware of the sun. I highly recommend a tent or some sort of coverage.

"Your vinyl obsession (if I can call it that) is literally taking over your life. " Man this thread turned depressing quickly. I would not say I'm quite on that level, but I think there's some valid advice to be had here. Appreciate it. I'm definit…

Word! Thanks Duderonomy!

Can anyone ID that 1st track after the intro? The 1st verse starts out "so beautiful, like a star above." It sounds something like Gary Bartz or Steve Kuhn but different. So good! I feel like I should know what it is but I can't place it. Any help i…

Bummed that Odeon and Philips are both taken but 9 years on and nobody's claimed Continental! I'll take that catalog which includes minty doubles of Arthur Verocai and tons of other Brazilian gems. Thanks.

Super late to this thread but I really enjoyed it and it brought back tons of memories of my own. Loving the nostalgia. Here we go... Getting excited about stickers. Magic The Gathering (yeah I was a dork). Anyone else? Capturing and torturing sm…

Soft Machine. 1st album has more of a heavy rock/psych feel but the Jazz influence is undeniable. By the 2nd album they were moving even more into the Jazz realm in the most interesting way. Third LP is almost entirely instrumental Jazz, but it does…

I will go so far to say Dots & Loops is one of my favorite albums of all time. Definitely my top Stereolab album. Sound Dust is also incredible and does not seem to get as much love for some reason. Probably cause it's a bit more abstract, which…

You have a digging problem, when you find breakbeats you forgot about when you're just casually listening to records (versus making a beat). Happens to me all the time. Which brings up another... + when digging for records starts taking prio…

When the 1st job you get after graduating from college is at a thrift store and your only reason for working there is to put yourself into a position where records are brought to you (and you have first crack at em), then 10 years later you're still…

day said: I was thinking this SAME thing tonight (kinda). I was listening to "Engine #9" on the way to Target (sorry Tony!) and it occurred to me I never listened to the rest of that album. Now that's blasphemy Mr. Bobo. Here's some irony…

Like most folks on here, too many to count. But this one ranks up there pretty high! Bought at a Garage Sale for a buck and had no idea what it was at the time. It was actually a really early score for me when I knew practically nothing about record…

Hi. I am brand spankin new to the Strut forum. Been into this record thing along with everything you can think of that comes with it for about 20 years now. Known about this site and have visited it from time to time but for whatever reason never be…

This shit is legendary. Only thing I can compare this to personally is some dreams I've had about digging. Seriously, this is even better than most dreams I've had about digging, fictional dream-titles and all. Respect!

Steve Kuhn - Trance LP A recent pickup. Holds up nicely to the more sought after S/T LP of his on Buddah. Also one of the better albums I've heard from the ECM label. Some of that stuff gets a bit too new-age/smooth for me.
